The inspiration for Juniper & Rye came from our visits to the pioneer cottages in rural Victoria. We were intrigued by the lifestyle, furniture, and utensils used by people during those times. The style of the buildings, with a central corridor and front veranda, caught our attention. We imagined how the cozy and uncomplicated aura of those buildings, combined with modern bathroom and kitchen facilities, could give guests a unique and exciting experience, especially those from busy city life. The location is perfect, with a tiny garden and adjacency to Sherbrooke Forest (you can access the forest through our gates), and proximity to the charming Villages of Sassafras, Olinda, Mt Dandenong, and Belgrave township, which will undoubtedly appeal to our guests.
You will find comfort in our antique iron queen bed, and on chilly nights, you can sit by the fireplace and enjoy Foxtel on the large TV. We have put special thought into the kitchen, with lots of interesting antique kitchenware, including a decorative-only Kookaburra Stove, a fridge, a microwave, and an electric frypan, as well as essential appliances such as the Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, and toaster. Additionally, the bedroom and bathroom feature beautiful leadlight windows for your pleasure. The bathroom is new and stunning, with a rain shower from the ceiling and ample room for two in the walk-in shower. Of course, Wifi is available, and we have also provided air conditioning.
